Human Relations Commission (HRC)

HRC Objectives

  • Develop and implement outreach programs and forums relating to diversity, equal rights and equal opportunity issues that may affect the social fabric and well-being of the community;
  • Facilitate constructive conflict resolution between stakeholder constituencies that encompass human relations issues through dialogue, facilitation, and other communications approaches, methods and techniques;
  • Amplify ways to monitor and measure community relations;
  • Ensure that these interpersonal efforts are supported in a meaningful and consistent manner;
  • Foster an environment of fairness and respect among community members;
  • Offer recommendations to City Council regarding emerging issues of social impact to the community;
  • Act as a referral resource or sounding board to City Council in these and related matters, as requested.
